LOPEZ CRISTOBAL La Linde 2025
Description
López Cristóbal La Linde 2025 is the most accessible and expressive entry-level red wine from Bodegas López Cristóbal, a family winery founded in 1994 in Roa (Burgos), in the heart of the Ribera del Duero DO. A project born with the vocation of ensuring its wines are always a faithful reflection of the terroir, with fruit as the protagonist and tradition as a guide.
Made with 95% Tinta del País (Tempranillo) and 5% Merlot grapes sourced exclusively from the Finca La Linde, an estate vineyard located at an altitude of over 770 meters on calcareous-loamy soils. The winery has 50 hectares of estate vineyards spread across 9 plots, and the harvest is entirely manual in fruit boxes to preserve the integrity of the berries, followed by a sorting table at the winery to reject grapes that do not meet quality standards.
The winemaking is clean and precise: alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 23°C. The wine undergoes a brief 3-month aging period in French oak barrels aged 1 to 3 years, followed by 3 months of aging in the bottle. Just enough time in wood to provide structure and complexity without masking the fruit expression of the Tinta del País. The 2025 vintage has been rated as "Very Good" by the Ribera del Duero Regulatory Council.
With an deep cherry-red color with purple highlights. On the nose, a perfect combination of fruit and wood: strawberries, wild berries, and forest fruits take center stage, accompanied by soft spicy notes and a delicate, well-integrated touch of oak. On the palate, it is savory, agile, and juicy, with pleasant tannins, good acidity, and a persistent finish with echoes of wild berries. A Ribera del Duero red that demonstrates that quality craftsmanship and an affordable price can go perfectly hand in hand.
Serving temperature: 16-18°C. Ideal for tapas, cured meats, grilled meats, barbecue, pizza, pasta, and everyday drinking.
