At first glance, it shows a deep burgundy color with bright reflections.
On the nose, it displays complex aromas of ripe black fruit, balsamic notes, fine spices and delicate toasted wood.
In the mouth it is powerful, structured and enveloping, with firm but silky tannins, great balance and a long and persistent finish.
Gaudium 2020 represents the pinnacle of Marqués de Cáceres' oenological excellence. It comes from a careful selection of small plots of very old vines, some centuries old, located between 400 and 740 meters of altitude in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. These strains, with low yield and high concentration, provide grapes of exceptional quality.
Made mainly with Tempranillo and a small proportion of Graciano, the wine is fermented with a careful artisanal process and aged for 18 months in new fine-grain French oak barrels. It then rests in the bottle to reach its maximum expression before going on the market.
