In the center of the estate, the winery is built to preserve its natural environment, while guaranteeing exhaustive control in the management of every detail of the Villacreces winemaking process.
Finca Villacreces has been planted at 700 meters above sea level and is subject to an extreme climate, with large thermal fluctuations, long winters and dry summers with low rainfall. However, the forest that surrounds the estate provides a special microclimate that protects the vineyard from the most aggressive climatic circumstances.
This vineyard is divided into 15 plots of the Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties, which are interspersed with a bicentennial pine forest of great environmental and landscape value.
Finca Villacreces, thus emerges as a unique vineyard, conditioned by the diversity of soils where it is planted, ranging from extremely sandy areas near the pine trees, to very stony lands where ridges from the alluvial deposition of the Duero predominate. The poverty of the land naturally guarantees low yields of around 4,000 kg/hectare.
At Finca Villacreces, viticulture focused on quality is sought, where the vineyard self-regulates to limit production to less than 2 kilos per vine. In turn, these vineyards are cultivated following integrated viticulture criteria, where the natural condition of the vine is controlled and preserved to obtain wines with Villacreces' own and unique personality and typicity.
