Gin is an alcoholic beverage distilled with juniper berries as the main ingredient, along with other botanicals such as coriander, angelica root, citrus peel, cardamom, among others. It usually has a high alcohol content, so it is mainly used as a base in cocktails and mixed drinks.

There are different types of gin, such as London Dry Gin, Old Tom Gin and Genever, each with its own composition and production method. The most common way to drink it is with tonic water, forming the famous Gin Tonic.

Gin originates from the Netherlands, although it became popular in the United Kingdom and is considered an iconic drink of British culture.
